Walter King married Nancy Sevier. The " Sevier Family History " provides additional information.

Collateral Family Lineages. by Cora Bales Sevier and Nancy S. Madden, Kaufman Publishing Co.

      p. # 246
      Nancy Sevier and Walter King;
Walter King b. 1764, Louisa Co., VA; d. October 1830 Roane Co., TN son of Thomas King and Sarah,
whose last name was probably SACKVILLE. See King Family Records in appendix.
Walter King owned and operated an iron works in Sullivan Co., TN and was associated in the enterprisewith Gen. John Sevier and Major John Sevier, Jr. The Kings probably moved to Roane Co., about 1806-1807. Walter was one of the early registers of Roane County and was a charter member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church organized in Kingston in 1818. Records show Mrs. Nancy King joined the church in 1822. The inventory of Walter King's estate showed a large library for that day and time. It included such items as the collected works of both Pope and Addison, the works of Rousseau in the Franch language, an ancient history by Rollins, a history of England, a history of Virginia, the travels of Lewis and Clark, and the discourses of Owens.
The 1830 Census of Roane County lists Walter King as head of a household consisting of two males
      10-15; one 60-70; two females 15-20; one 20-30; one 40-50--plus fifteen slaves.
His will did not mention his wife, so it is presumed that she pre-deceased him. Miss Hattie May's letter dated Kingston, July 3, 1889 mentioned: " Father's aunt, Nancy King and her husband are buried in
      the Kingston burying ground. "

Walter and Patsey King signed a Power of Attorney in Sullivan Co, TN, on Nov. 19,1798 to Philip King.
Philip in turn signed for Walter when the heirs of Thomas King deeded the Home Place including 263 acres on the Pamunky River to Benjamin King. The home was about one and a half miles from Apople Gove, Va. The tract was owned by the Hart family in recent years. See Louisa County Deed
Book I, page # 637. The deed is dated December 28, 1798, proved in court July 8, 1799. Record
kindly furnished by Mrs. William P. Bowdry.

NOTE: About Sevier genealogy: it suggests that the mother of Walter was Sarah Sackville. Walter was
born in 1764 and we know that by 1758 Thomas was married to Tillah White. See Source: White family deed dated 6 July 1758. John King's birthday was 12 January 1758 and his records say Sarah was his mother. Sarah may have died post partum. Then Thomas may have married Tillah White.
An alternate possiblity not otherwise supported is that Sarah and Tillah are the same person, i.e.
Tillah is a nickname for Sarah. ( I haven't been able to establish this ) Note from Don Latham King.
Many researchers have suggested that Thomas's first wife must have been Sarah Sackville, mainly
because of the first born given name. However, I have seen other men with the first name of Sackville, eg. one of Tillah's brothers in law.
( from transcript of Donald Latham King ).

      Important Note to review:
Kingston, Tennesee, the county seat of Raone County was established in 1799 on land belonging
to ROBERT KING. ( Is this my elusive Robert, son of Thomas? )
