      Enoch Wood King, MD born June 24, 1845 in Oldham County, Kentucky. The youngest of Dr. Elisha B. King who practiced medicine in Galena, Floyd County, Indiana from 1835 to 1840.
      Enoch was nine years old when his father moved to Bradford, Harrison Co., Indiana. His father died living a widow and 2 children. In August 1862, Enoch enlisted in Company C, 66 Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He served three years as a private. He was wounded in the Battle of Resaca, GA on May 15, 1864. He studied medicine with Dr. Joseph Ellis in Bradford, Harrison Co., Indiana. Teaching school in the winter to help his mother and sisters. In 1869, Enoch King located in Galena and served as a doctor. In November 1879 he moved to Kansas City, MO. He married Althan Hooper on November 11, 1870. They had two
      children, Claude Bernard King and Walter Wood King.
